About Ashley Laurenzi
Katie Rose, E-RYT 500
I first came to yoga in an attempt to support my physical body at a doctor’s recommendation as I have a connective tissue disorder that was deeply interfering with my daily living. As a trauma survivor, I had no idea how much I needed this practice. While I believe that asana (poses) are important to balance strength and stability, I quickly learned that yoga is so much more.
As a survivor of sexual assault and childhood trauma I found myself leaning into the other limbs of yoga for healing tools to cope with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and to heal my body image. As I started to feel more at peace I felt compelled to dive deeper into the roots of yoga. I became a Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher and am now a Yoga Therapist in training. I feel my dharma (purpose) is to work with survivors of sexual assault and folks suffering from eating disorders. Yoga gives us tools to become resilient over our past and cultivate the future we want and deserve.
I combine my background in classical dance, Anatomy, Kinesiology, and Sport Psychology with the tools of yoga in order to provide a safe space for students to practice. I help students I am working with feel empowered to discern what feels good in their own bodies.
YOGA THERAPIST IN TRAINING, B.S. KINESIOLOGY
Ashley Laurenzi, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500
My name is Ashley Laurenzi! I am a Trauma-Informed Yoga Therapist from Orange County, CA. As a survivor of childhood trauma, an anxiety diagnosis and series of panic attacks led me to the physical practice of yoga ten years ago. As I experienced profound healing, I became more aware of the subtle benefits of yoga to my mental health. I knew I needed to create a life that moved at a slower, more sustainable pace, so I left my stressful corporate job to teach yoga, work with trauma survivors, and train new teachers full time in 2016. I am passionate about helping students weave the tools of yoga naturally into their everyday lives. My dharma (purpose) is come alongside students on their healing journey and to empower those who want to teach others to do so safely and inclusively.
